The Libre Graphics install party is an interactive and collaborative session where staff and students come together to explore and learn about free and open-source graphics software. The session aims to provide a hands-on experience with popular Libre Graphics tools such as GIMP, Inkscape, Scribus, Blender and Krita, and to foster a community of learners and innovators.
During the session, participants will be guided through the installation process of the software on their personal computers or laptops. Experienced facilitator(s) will be on hand to provide technical support and answer questions, ensuring that everyone can successfully install and start using the software.
Once the software is installed, participants will have the opportunity to explore the various features and tools of each program through a series of guided activities and tutorials. These activities will include basic image editing and manipulation, vector graphics creation, and digital painting. Participants will also have the chance to work on their projects, with facilitators available to provide guidance and feedback.
The session will also include discussions and sharing of experiences, tips, and tricks for getting the most out of the software. Participants will be encouraged to share their knowledge and expertise and to learn from each other’s experiences. The goal is to create a supportive and collaborative environment where everyone can learn and grow together.
Throughout the session, participants will have access to a range of resources, including tutorials, documentation, and online communities. The facilitator(s) will also provide information on how to get involved in the Libre Graphics community, and how to contribute to the development and improvement of the software. By the end of the session, participants will have a solid foundation in using Libre Graphics software and will be equipped with the skills and knowledge to continue exploring and learning on their own.
