Getting through the units, passing the assessment criteria, and reflecting on the achievement of learning outcomes is what they have to do. It’s our job to ensure that they do it. Their progress is contained in an infinite number of pixels; accessible, like these words you are reading right now, in a file, in a folder, on a site, through a blog, on a screen. But screen-based reflection can only occur when you decide to click on it. With a myriad of far more tempting clickable pathways to pursue, Moodle’s formatted and archived assessment summaries do not really actively encourage repetitive reflective viewing. Is it possible for us to encourage reflective learning amidst the paraphernalia of student’s own room?

This session examines if pedagogic souvenirs can encourage learning and reflection away from college, in the students’ own space. And, like it says in the title, you’ll get a certificate if you attend.
