Learning & teaching in silence
Our immediate context is a frame of reference for the maelstrom of the global everyday, with the physical, social, economic, political, and historical of place providing the raw material for research, speculation and action for artists and designers. A silent walk in the immediate neighbourhood of the institution highlights our everyday as source and testing ground for creative practice. By paying close attention to this everyday we embrace uncertainty and foster praxis. Silence is the scaffolding for this particular experiential learning. This workshop offers vivid reflection experiencing paying attention through direct participation and demonstrates the potential for learning in the immediate context of the contemporary university.
