Rhizomatic Learning in the Riso Room
The final cohort of the Design for Graphic Communication course were lucky enough to have one of the best classrooms in LCC. This room, unofficially known as the Riso Room (due to it housing the course’s Risograph), was effectively owned by the students, and was changed and rearranged by them to fit their needs for different projects. Having their own space made their final year easier, as they had a place to store work, and a place to work uninterrupted. The sense of community enabled by the space enabled collaboration, peer learning, and a positive student experience.
