Scenographic Approaches across Spatial Design Disciplines

The paper will discuss the upcoming collaboration between second year LCC BA Spatial Design students and Wimbledon BA Theatre & Screen: Theatre Design students. The project aims to foster connections between different spatial design disciplines at UAL. The students will be asked to consider how scenographic approaches and methods can be used in the design of all kinds of spaces, and introduced to an understanding of scenography that extends beyond design for performance. The aim is that the collaboration will culminate in the realisation of an exhibition design by the students, where visitor flow and movement and its relationship with the space will be key considerations.
