Affect and pedagogy: overcoming anxiety
Abstract
Drawing on the Lost & Found research project this talk/discussion presents one of the findings: 'the affective state of students and staff at UAL is increasingly characterised by high levels of anxiety' and asks partcipants whether they recognise this in relation to their experience. The presentation moves to offering pedagogic models currently in use at UAL that overcome such anxiety by developing collaborative, spatially flexible environments within which the affective dynamic is characterised by mutuality and cooperation.
