Visualising Teaching: Working with students to investigate and communicate teaching practice
Abstract
This visual presentation will showcase UAL's first exhibition of teaching: 'Practices of Enquiry', which took place at Chelsea College of Arts in November 2016. The student-staff collaborative team behind the initiative undertook pedagogic research into case studies of enquiry-based learning across the colleges, and developed a range of practice-based responses to interpret and represent the findings. The exhibition was supplemented by an events programme linking back to the teaching ideas behind the exhibits. Sessions were open to students and staff and included a Feral Lunch, an iPhone film-making workshop and an Assessment Co-Design workshop. The presentation will conclude with a discussion of the nature of student-staff collaborative pedagogic research.
