Co-delivery in action: collaborative teaching within the Contextual and Theoretical Studies Undergraduate Design School at LCC
Abstract
Our workshop will 'illustrate ways in which teaching or learning support have been designed to span, extend, or even subvert disciplinary affiliation' via two strands: Authorship and Voice facilitated by Academic Librarians which uses Pussy Riot as a vehicle for workshop attendees to: Understand different formats and their relevance, understand ideas of authorship and voice, be able to critically evaluate sources of information (text and visual).
'Portaterms' facilitated by Academic Support Advisers will allow workshop attendees to explore a glossary of cultural and theoretical studies terms through writing and drawing. These two activities are edited versions of workshops that undergraduate students in the Design School at LCC participate in as part of their Contextual and Theoretical Studies (CTS) units in the first year. The students have been successfully working collaboratively with CTS Tutors, Academic Librarians and Academic Support Advisers to span and extend disciplinary affiliation which focus on key academic skills, methods and ideas.
