Critical Sustainability: an information literacy Toolkit for librarians

UAL’s Climate Crisis pledge focuses on ‘Making Sustainability a Required Part of the Student Learning Experience’.
While this is a compulsory element of taught courses at UAL, we believe that the need for ‘Climate Literacy’ (Universities UK, 2019) makes libraries crucial to navigating the information landscape around sustainability, global warming and climate change.
We have developed a Toolkit for librarians that places information literacy at the centre of an array of pedagogical interventions around the climate crisis and sustainable thinking. We would like to present the Toolkit to teaching colleagues and discuss their students’ needs.
