Embedded academic support: the case of writing café for BA Interior & Spatial Design at Camberwell College of Arts
As emphasised by Dr Ursula Wingate (2022) in her speech of our Language Centre’s 'What do we mean when we talk about language' series, literacy development is ‘inseparable from the acquisition of discipline knowledge’. In this session, I will share my experience of the writing café for BA Interior & Spatial Design at Camberwell in Term 1. Drawing on three sessions about research mapping, precedent analysis and image analysis, I will present the workshop planning, material development and delivery in collaboration with a course lecturer and reflect on this partnership as an example to integrate academic literacy into the curriculum.
