Student Participation in Standalone Sessions
Many staff across UAL teach in support roles and interact with student cohorts only in the context of one-off, or standalone sessions (for example technicians, archivists and library staff), without any opportunity to develop a relationship with student groups. Often these sessions include information which it's important that students understand, yet most are discussion-based. My research looked at ways to ensure that students in these sessions felt equally comfortable participating and asking questions, examining how we can think about and encourage student participation in one-off settings.
