Decolonise knowledge in collaboration with Philosophy
This talk will explore the use of philosophy to unpack student 'Enquiry' and ways to nurture their 'Knowledge'. We tested a theme-specific MA seminar as an opportunity to explore philosophy from the non-west and introduce reflections on the balance between Western-centric philosophy, particularly with students East Asian cultural experience. We used drawing as a method and looked at visual examples of early maps to discuss positionality. Our seminar aimed to decolonise knowledge as a testbed to collaborate with a sense of humanity in the art and design studio.
