Critical Practice as Play: Pedagogy, Performance and Safer Spaces
I am a Collaborative Partnership Doctoral student exploring if Tate can be a safe(r) space to discuss race and cultural differences within a teaching and learning context? My PhD informs my educative/ curatorial practice called, 'Critical Practice as Play' that uses experimental and playful approaches to initiate dialogues, around challenging and sensitive histories. CPP uses performance and storytelling to explore how is teaching in of itself is a performance and where the critical classroom can be a 'safe(r) space' to have conversations around issues of social justice.
