Pop by over lunchtime to explore a suite of new resources from the Conflict in Learning Spaces work at UAL. These have been recently developed with Nonviolent Communication (NVC) practitioner Ceri Buckmaster and the Learning and Teaching Directorate and respond to colleagues feedback on the support they need to navigate conflict and tension in the classroom.
We’ll have laptops and headphones set up in the canteen space to showcase five newly developed video and designed resources:
We’ll also have QR codes so you can watch and download the videos in your own time.
These resources form part of the collaborative work between the Learning and Teaching Directorate and Governance team, and was established in 2024/25 in preparation for the new OFS regulations on Freedom of Speech/Expression. The resources and training ensure we meet our regulatory duty to promote freedom of speech/freedom of Expression and support staff to navigate classroom conflicts around political or contested issues in increasingly polarised times.
