Abstract

As creative careers continue to shift and diversify, this keynote and conversation brings together Martin Edmondson and Allan Attlee to explore how universities might rethink employability as an embedded, collective practice. From evolving graduate ecosystems to lived student experience, the discussion opens up questions of access, ownership and the kinds of futures we are designing through creative education.

Creating space for collective reflection, provocation and dialogue; offering a common point of departure to connect ideas, practices and conversations across creative education. 

Martin Edmondson is Chief Executive of the Graduate Futures Institute, the professional body for careers and employability in higher education across the UK and Ireland. He founded and led the social enterprise Gradcore and brings over 20 years’ experience spanning universities, employers and the graduate labour market. A regular speaker and commentator, his work focuses on rethinking employability as a core part of the academic mission and institutional strategy. 

Allan Atlee is Pro Vice-Chancellor for Education and Students at UAL, where he leads on education strategy and the student experience. An experienced higher education leader with a background in architecture and design, he has held senior roles across the UK creative education sector, including at Central Saint Martins and the Glasgow School of Art.
