Abstract

Participants are invited to respond to a single opening prompt on their own sheet of paper — in whatever form feels right. Writing, drawing, mapping, a single word, a diagram. There is no single right form. The opening prompt: “What do you know that doesn’t fit neatly into words?”

“What do you know that doesn’t fit neatly into words?”

After a few minutes, sheets are passed to someone else. The new person adds a layer — not correcting, not summarising, but entering. A response, a connection, a question, an image. You are not editing someone else’s work. You are joining it. Adding to it. Building on it.

Sheets can be passed again. And again. Each person who touches a sheet leaves something of themselves on it. The layers accumulate — different handwriting, different forms, different ways of knowing sitting side by side on the same page.

As the session builds, sheets spread across the table and become a growing collective piece — layered, multimodal, and made together. No single voice dominates. No single form is privileged. The texture of the collaboration is visible in the layers themselves. 

The session is self-sufficient and drop-in friendly. Participants can spend five minutes or stay for the full session. The layered collective piece on the table is the output — raw, real, and unrepeatable.
