Access information for the Open Call

We are keen to receive proposals from colleagues with a diverse range of job role, level and type (e.g. academic, technical, administrative, support staff, etc.).

We are keen to receive proposals from marginalised and under-represented groups, including Black, Indigenous People of Colour (BIPOC), D/disabled, LGBTQIA+.

The peer-review process will focus on the content on the proposal, not the quality of the writing. Peer-reviewers will not make judgements on academic language, spelling or grammar. We value the role of language and linguistic differences in knowledge construction, accept submissions in more than one language and various forms of multi-modal presentation. We will review proposals based on the criteria themselves.

We will work with colleagues who have proposals accepted, to ensure any access requirements or support needs are met before and during the conference.

Alternative submission

If you require any support with making your proposal, please see How do I get support with making a proposal? below.

Access information for attendees

  • Sessions will be online via Microsoft Teams, which has an auto-generated captioning facility.
  • Sessions longer than an hour will include a break, but you are most welcome to sit out of part of sessions as required.
  • Presentation slides will be available at least 48 hours before the session.
  • Recordings of sessions will be available in most instances. Auto-generated transcripts will also be available after the conference.

If you have any further access requirements, or if there is anything we should be aware of before the conference, please contact us at educationconference@arts.ac.uk

How do I get support with making a proposal?

If you require any advice or support with your proposal, please contact Conference Coordinator Tim Stephens at educationconference@arts.ac.uk. This support can range from an informal chat about an idea to providing feedback on initial proposals up to one week prior to the deadline, suggesting potential collaborators or advice on the appropriate choice of format. This advice and support may be offered individually, or in small groups, as appropriate.
